B+L visits "The ORBIS Flying Eye Hospital" – Stansted Airport

17th March 2017 - Today we visited The ORBIS Flying Eye Hospital on board of a MD-10 aircraft at Stansted Airport which is the only ophthalmic teaching hospital of its kind.

This is the first time it has been to the UK since the launch in June 2016 and we feel privileged to have been able to experience this fascinating tour.

The aircraft includes a fully accredited surgical suite as well as an impressive 46 seat classroom equipped with the latest 3D technology to help train doctors and nurses in delivering eye care procedures.

The Flying Eye Hospital offers training to medical professionals in under resourced communities around the world countries as well as helping to raise awareness of avoidable blindness.
