B+L sponsors ‘The Sustainability Prize 2017’ at The Royal College of Ophthalmologists Congress

The Royal College of Ophthalmologists launched the Sustainability Prize in 2016 to reward the poster at its Annual Congress which best addressed the triple bottom line of sustainable health care- social, environmental and financial sustainability. This year it has been sponsored by Bausch + Lomb, who have also helped start an active online sustainability network amongst ophthalmologists, allied healthcare professionals and industry.

There were 68 abstracts submitted for consideration of the prize, a huge increase on last year. This was reduced to 15 short-listed abstracts, all of whom received one of the coveted rosettes.

The winner,Mr Andy Cassels-Brown received a prize and certificate presented by Professor Carrie MacEwan, President of The Royal College of Ophthalmologists and Adele Brown from Bausch + Lomb at the Awards Ceremony in Liverpool on 24th May 2017.
